Zeus Numerix bags Lockheed Martin India Innovation Silver Medal
Zeus Numerix Private Limited reached a major milestone with the successful signing of a marketing and distribution agreement with Adroitec Information Systems where the latter will sell and service Zeus’ full line of numerical simulation software packages. This was part of the Lockheed Martin India Innovation Growth Program where Zeus Numerix (ZN) participated and won the Silver Medal for innovation in the field of numerical simulations.

Lockheed Martin India Innovation Growth Program is a two-year, nation-wide project, created to enhance the growth and development of India's entrepreneurial economy and is wholly funded by Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. It was conceptualized in the Aeroshow 2007 in Bangalore and was announced in partnership with FICCI and IC2 Institute at University of Texas at Austin.

IC2 institute was the partner supposed to give training to the participants in this competition for commercialization of technologies. Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) was the organizing partner for logistic support.

The program was aimed at finding the new technologies in the country and bringing them to market. The program was conducted in many phases with two phases of competition. In each phase training session was given by the faculty of IC2 institute in presentation of technology and making a marketing framework for the company. The winning companies were to be given help in finding right partners in the industry and also in helping to collaborate with prospective customers.

Zeus Numerix participated in the first phase of the program and was interviewed for 2-3 hours on the prospect and innovativeness of the technology. Questions like “What makes the technology unique” were answered and hence ZN was selected for second phase of the project.

In the competition phase, a presentation was given by ZN on the innovativeness of the technology and uniqueness in ZN product offerings. Presentation was made in front of eminent jury comprising of senior bureaucrats from DST, eminent VCs and senior members of Lockheed Martin and IC2 Institute.

ZN’s efforts in the field of numerical simulations were recognized by the jury and silver medal for innovation was conferred upon the company. ZN was also given a “Quick Look” report of the innovative technology submitted that gave ZN very good information about the prospects the technological innovation had.

IC2 and FICCI after the selection process started the marketing activity for ZN and many meetings were arranged between ZN and prospective clients with the help of FICCI and IC2 institute. Notable among them were meeting with GM R&D of NTPC, R&D Head of L&T and Chairman and Director of Adroitec Systems.

The success of the initiative can be gauged by the fact that ZN was one of the three companies that signed a business deal in the event held on 23rd August at Taj West End, Bangalore.

The meeting was attended by Shri M.N. Vidyashankar Secretary IT, BT and NT Govt. of Karnataka, Dr. Ray Johnson CTO Lockheed Martin, Dr. Philip Georgariou, Director Business Ventures, Lockheed Martin, Mr. Topa, Mr. Alop Mittal, Mr. Nirankar Saxena, FICCI and host of personalities from print and electronic media.

ZN along with other companies has been widely covered in press for getting the award and especially for signing the business deal. Notable newpapers that gave coverage to the event are The Economic Times, The Hindu, The Hindu Business Line, The Indian Express among others.
